Rules of the Terauchi Prague 2025 Contest

This document sets out the complete rules of the Terauchi Prague 2025 Contest (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest”). Any abbreviated version of the rules provided in promotional materials or on social media for the participants shall be interpreted in accordance with this document.

(hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer“)

2) Contest Duration and Location

The Contest will take place from November 25, 2024, to April 15, 2025, within the territory of the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Duration” and “Contest Location“).

3) Contest Participants

Participation in the Contest (hereinafter referred to as the “Participant“) is open only to individuals over the age of 18 who meet the conditions set out in Section 5, Subsection 1 of these rules.

Employees and individuals in similar relationships with the Organizer are excluded from the Contest.

Participants who do not meet the eligibility criteria or act in violation of these rules are not allowed to participate in the Contest or claim the prize and will be excluded from the evaluation process. The Organizer reserves the right to verify compliance with the participation requirements and assess entitlement to the prize.

Participants will also be excluded if the Organizer discovers or reasonably suspects fraudulent or unethical behavior by the Participant or someone assisting them in such behavior.

The Organizer further reserves the right to exclude Participants without explanation if their conduct exhibits signs of fraud or non-compliance with the Contest rules.

4) Contest Prizes

The following prize is included in the Contest:

TFRK – Terauchi File Retrieval Kit, personally signed by Dr. Terauchi (hereinafter referred to as the “Prize“).

5) Contest Conditions

An individual meeting the conditions in Section 3 of these rules may participate in the Contest if they meet all of the following conditions:

1. The Participant registers for the Terauchi Prague 2025 Congress via the website: www.terauchi-prague.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Website“), providing the required information, including at least their name, surname, billing information, email address, and phone number, and pays the registration fee for the theoretical part of the Congress. By completing the registration, the Participant enters the Contest and accepts the rules.
2. During the registration process, Congress participants may enter the name of a referrer in the registration form. A Congress participant who has not entered a referrer during registration may request to add one by sending an email to info@terauchi-prague.com by 11:59 PM on April 15, 2025. Once entered, the referrer cannot be changed retroactively.
3. A Participant who successfully refers at least two individuals who register and attend the Terauchi Prague 2025 Congress and list the Participant as their referrer during registration will be automatically entered into the draw. For every additional two referred participants, the Participant gains an additional entry into the draw.

6) Prize Winners and Prize Distribution

a) There will be one winner of the Contest.

b) The winner will be determined by a draw, which will take place on April 18, 2025, in the main hall of the Terauchi Prague 2025 Congress.

c) The winner will be informed of their win during the announcement and via email in case of absence. The prize will be handed over in person during the announcement. In case of absence, the winner will be invited via email to collect their prize.

d) If the winner does not claim the prize after repeated notices or refuses to present a valid ID to verify their identity or sign a receipt form by May 30, 2025, they forfeit the prize, and the Organizer reserves the right to determine its further use.

e) The Organizer reserves the right to request additional documentation (e.g., proof of identity) to verify the eligibility of the Participant. Failure to provide such documents results in forfeiture of the prize, and the Organizer will decide on its further use.

7) Processing of Personal Data and Personal Information

By registering for the Contest, Participants acknowledge and agree that the Organizer will process their personal data in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Act No. 110/2019 Coll. (Data Protection Act), for purposes essential to the Contest’s execution.
Personal data processed include name, surname, address, email, and phone number, necessary for prize delivery and subsequent marketing activities. After three years from the Contest’s conclusion, personal data will be deleted.

Personal data provided by participants will be processed only by the organizer and will not be transferred outside the European Union.

Participants have the following rights regarding their personal data:

• Right to access
• Right to rectification
• Right to erasure
• Right to object to processing
• Right to withdraw consent
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8) Final Provisions

a. The Organizer reserves the right to decide on all matters relating to the Contest, including the prize award

b. The Organizer may alter, shorten, extend, or terminate the Contest or its rules, with changes published at www.terauchi-prague.com.

c. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other items, nor can legal action be taken to claim it.

d. Participants excluded due to non-compliance with the rules cannot appeal their exclusion.

e. In case of disputes, the provisions of these rules prevail.

f. The organizer of the competition is not responsible for the prize and its functionality, does not provide any guarantee, the contestant is not entitled to claim the prize from the organizer for defects in the prize item. Rights from defects, rights to compensation for damage or harm are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law, especially in relation to the organizer. The contestant is obliged to make all possible claims from the prize item directly to the supplier of the prize or the official distributor of the prize. The organizer does not provide technical support or consulting services in connection with the prize item. The organizer is not responsible for the impossibility of participating in the competition for technical or any other reasons.

g. The organizer is entitled to allocate the prize to a specific winner or to keep it after this date if the winner does not collect it or fails to hand it over by May 30, 2025.

h. The Competition Organiser is not responsible for any damage or injury suffered by an entrant as a result of their participation in the Competition or through any prize won.

i. All participants who do not properly meet the conditions of participation in the competition according to these rules are excluded from the competition.

j. The Organizer is not liable for the loss, non-delivery, delay or damage of the prize sent via postal service or in any other way.

k. In the event of a conflict between the provisions of these rules and promotional materials relating to the competition, or any ambiguity regarding the interpretation of the rules or promotional materials, the relevant provisions of these rules will prevail.

l. The competent body for out-of-court settlement of disputes related to the competition is the Czech Trade Inspection, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Prague 2, website: www.coi.cz.
